Remembering Things Past featuring Linda Abadjian, Pablo Caviedes, Cui Fei, Ana Golici, Anti Lui, Meleko Mokgosi, Jason Paradis, Filiberto Perez, Fatima Shakil, Richard Smith, Annemarie Waugh, and Shirley Wegner.

 

 

Remembering Things Past features foreign-born artists working in America. The artists in this exhibition all made the journey from their home country at different stages in their lives and incorporate past interests, memories, and experiences of their home country into their artwork. The variety of their forms and subject matter reflect the uniqueness of their experiences. Remembering Things Past willtravel to the Islip Art Museum from the Patchogue Arts Gallery. 

 

 

Remembering Things Past is on view at the Patchogue Arts Gallery from November 8 - December 28, 2014. The expanded version of this exhibition will be on view at the Islip Art Museum from January 18 - March 29, 2015.

 

 

 

 

 

ALEXANDER PERCY: THE TEXTURE OF COLOR

In support of emerging artists, the Islip Art Museum's gift shop will feature a series of paintings by Alexander Percy. 

 

 

Alexander Percy creates textured surfaces through layers of paint that builds up on the canvas. His paintings focus on the materiality of paint, subsequent forms, and expression through color.
